Exploring the brain across species, places, & perspectives
Hi, I’m Annick!
I grew up surrounded by nature, which sparked my love for biology and, eventually, led me to study the brain.
Although I didn't grow up knowing research could be a career, a visit from a neuroscientist to my high school inspired me to pursue science at university.
My curiosity in biology and love of learning (and now research) has since taken me from my small mountain town of Revelstoke, BC, to Berlin, New Zealand, Oxford, and Brazil, where I’ve studied neuroscience across different labs, research topics, and species (including whales!).
In October 2026, I’ll begin a PhD in Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford, studying sex differences in brain networks across humans, macaques, and mice.
My goal is to better understand how differences in brain organization between females and males may help explain why conditions such as autism and depression are diagnosed at different rates between sexes.
Here, I share research updates, field notes, neuroscience projects, and the occasional adventure along the way.
Thanks for reading this.
